Loyalhanna Nature Trail
LWA manages the 1-mile long Loyalhanna Nature Trail, located along 18 acres of floodplain between the Loyalhanna Creek and Mill Creek in Ligonier Township. The nature trail is open year-round from dawn until dusk, and is accessible from Route 30 East across from Ligonier Giant Eagle.
Visitors to the trail will encounter many species of plants and animals, as well as different ecological and geological features. This section of the Loyalhanna Creek has been designated as a Delayed Harvest and Keystone Select Stocked Trout Waterway, and is well stocked throughout the year by the PA Fish and Boat Commission. There are also several pathways leading down to the creek as un-improved launch sites for kayaks and canoes as you start your journey on the Loyalhanna Water Trail.

Riparian Buffer Landowner Assistance Program
Through this project, LWA will provide technical assistance, materials and professional installation of riparian buffer vegetation at no cost to landowners. The goal of this effort is to re-establish healthy buffers along sections of streams identified as "priority restoration areas" within the Loyalhanna Creek Watershed. Together, we hope this individual steps will lead to a great improvement in our region's water quality.
